So true, Dana! And oh, how a bourbon drink sits well at this time of year. Here's one I plan on making again for the holidays: https://www.makersmark.com/cocktails/apple-butter-old-fashioned

I either need to focus on becoming a disciplined alcoholic, OR make IRL friends, because I have about 80 bottles of Whisk(e)y, AND I keep buying more when I find a unique bottle, but I don't drink enough to put a dent into my still growing collection.

I stopped drinking years ago. They make some pretty great non-alcoholic stuff now. I am glad you were able to enjoy it though. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Be it straight, rocks, Old Fashioned, Manhattan, or a Revolver (a must-try with Grind coffee liqueur), the brown spirit from KY and KY only, please, remains my all-time favorite. Salut!

I enjoy whisky but I seem to never indulge anymore. A lot of friends don’t drink now. My husband will barely drink a glass of wine.

And as you say, I’ve seen the dark side of alcohol more than once. I feel fortunate not to be vulnerable to that personally.

I can relate to the love of the buzz as I age out of metabolizing alcohol. It’s been a slide down into sobriety as my body turns a simple beer or glass of wine into poison. Having spent my life anally avoiding non-organic foods & maintaining an excellent diet I am seriously considering the BIOENGINEERED SUBSTANCE that digests the alcohol for you. It’s LAB GROWN!! But that’s my level of missing my social glow.

Either that or I’ll move to Puerto Vallarta where they distill the cleanest, finest agave imaginable.
