It’s always a pleasure to welcome our official legal correspondent Anne P. Mitchell, Esq. back to The Daily Whatever Show for Fucked-up Friday!
Today co-hosts Lawrence Winnerman and Dana DuBois opened the show with a somber discussion about the latest horrific school shooting in Bend. Oregon, with a heartfelt FUCK THE GUNS directed at every single elected official who’s refused to take action over all these decades of senseless gun deaths.
Because seriously FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS FUCK THE GUNS times infinity and back again.
From there, we shifted into news stories, including our three Fucked-up Friday picks. Anne pitched her story about how our new White House Press Secretary isn’t actually a lawyer as she claims she is—and how timely, as she has apparently been fired from said role already. Five days! That’s even shorter than a Scaramucci!
Dana discussed Texas’ draconian overstep in cancelling a school musical because the male lead was cast with—GASP!—a girl.
And Lawrence pitched the utter hubris of AI researchers who’ve started chain smoking because they believe AI will cure cancer.
Who won?? Well, you’re gonna need to listen in to find out.
Thank you Char Sundust, Stuart Cohen, Ms.Yuse, Sharon Rousseau, Observer, and many others for tuning in and to Karen Marie Shelton for moderating like a superstar.
We love you all, mean it!
