We have lost the art of listening to other points of view. I think that's why we're so polarized. And of course all the algorithms just add to it.

Everyone is getting the same cosmetic work done. And now they all have Mar-a-largo face. 🤮

One of the early beauty product marketer wins was the single additional word added to the shampoo instructions. Lather, rinse became lather, rinse, repeat... Way to double your sales.

One of my favorite covers: The Boys Of Summer by The Ataris (was Don Henley)

The other I like which might get me lynched by purists: Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm (was Michael Jackson)

Both of these covers drove the songs harder, and took two songs I didn't really like and turned them into songs I enjoyed listening to.

Yes. The repeat thing was like… repeat tomorrow???

Thanks for the song suggestions— I’m gonna go find them.

Andrea was one of the first writers I read when I got on Substack a year ago. Talent, wit, and intelligence.

I am working some of your 25 Truths essays into one of my journal pieces. I will post it as a Note and send you a link. Keep in mind that this series is based on my journal so it's not an essay or any formal piece of writing. It just . . . . meanders a bit.

Amazing conversation! I was wishing the hour would magically stretch to get more time with you both. Also, Andrea, I am so sorry for what you went through, and still are, in regards to your paedophile neighbour.

Thank you, Monica.

I’m more sorry for what all the kids in all his collected media went through.

I walked away with a story and some cynicism. I’m sure they fared worse.

I love to point out all the “new” songs my 25 likes that are actually covers of my songs

Archie Bunker and my Dad would be friends

For sure. Archie did have a certain charm tho… that my dad lacks.

My youngest but also her Dad’s only is the type A over achiever had to take a day of work for actual illness and didn’t feel good enough to work out. Still today on Thursday feels like she is not all caught up. Needed to work second job yesterday but switched to today. And it is all fine.

According to NOTUS, Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi purchased up to $15,000 in Palantir stock in 2023 and has continued holding it as the company’s shares surged more than 2,000%, potentially valuing his stake at up to about $91,600, while voting to fund the Department of Homeland Security—an agency that has awarded Palantir tens of millions in immigration enforcement contracts—prompting conflict-of-interest concerns amid his prior ethics disclosure violations and broader Democratic scrutiny over ties to the company.
