It's a great contemplative article. I'm having some overlapping thoughts as I just returned from visiting my 89 year old mom. She is very religious when I'm not. In some ways I wish I had her certainty about life and death and in other ways that just isn't who I am.
She is a bit frail, but we're still planning her 90th birthday celebration. I, too, feel the need to show up for my mother, even if we don't agree on so many things.
You strike me as good people to know.
