Our news picks moved from the absurd (Trump's cabinet-meeting Sharpie rant) to the genuinely chilling. Maritza's pick for the week's most fucked-up story: Trump's True Social post after Robert Mueller's death — "Good, I'm glad he's dead" — a statement Senator Tester called far beneath the office, and everyone agreed has become somehow both shocking and utterly unsurprising.
The conversation widened from there into ICE detaining a U.S. citizen for two and a half days with no explanation, nurses in Arizona forming a human chain to protect women in active labor from arrest, and what it means to raise kids — or send a daughter to college far from home — in a country that increasingly feels at war with itself.
