I said it on another thread and I’ll say it here:

Cornell better buckle up and lawyer up, esp those Admins that decided only two students needed expulsion and that ANY essay could be good enough to “mitigate” consequences.

Every institution that receives federal money must turn ALL reports of assault, sexual or otherwise, over to the actual police. Campus “police” should only deal with non-violent offenses. They are a school’s HR dept., not actual law enforcement.

If there are any university students out there reading this post, please take notice! You too have the power to stand up to injustice at your schools. You can be the brave ones who advocate for your fellow students - you can change the culture! If ever you thought about what you want your future to look like, now is the time to begin the mural and define the canvas. Congratulations to the intrepid Cornell students - They did!

They deserve flowers, cheers, standing ovations, and a serious salute for their courage and determination in getting the truth about this tragedy out to all of us. Every college does this reputation reparations exercise to ensure their image stays clean for the best possible look for the school 🛑

The last thing any college wants is a spread sheet of assaults, rapes, or worse. It’s a scramble to discourage the victims and shield the school from bad publicity.

Ben Bradley indeed 🚬

Extremely impressed with these students for their integrity and courage. Taking a stand against a powerful institution that has stifled a lot. Just a few weeks ago I was at a friend’s family party and one of the grandmothers shared a Cornell story - not SA, but something shady that was very ruinous and wrong. She told me to stay away from that school. Never let my daughter go there. These people aren’t necessarily smarter, she said, they’re just richer than us, and they stick together always. I believe her.

This is exactly why men want to keep women down, they are afraid of us. These powerful women knew how important revealing this was, it has been going on for too long and if the University wasn't there for the women, they would be. God love them and shame on the University for their cowardly behavior, I hope they do not have daughters and I hope their mothers and wives slap them up side the head to knock some sence into them. Do Better.

Running the names is bullshit if there's no evidence of a crime. I hope if the men are guilty they are executed. And i hope if they are innocent they sue her and various publications who named or dozed them until those publications don't exist anymore.

A civil lawsuit was filed in September.

A civil lawsuit was filed in September.

MaudeT's avatar

Why? They aren’t minors. Accused people are named all the time. If they are found innocent, so be it.

historicdad's avatar

False accusations ruin lives. If you don't have evidence don't run your mouth. It's a simple rule for civility.

Again, already a guy not at all involved was doxxed and accused just because his name was similar. If you're trying to post outrage or just trying to be seen, your motivation is wrong.

If someone accused you of prostitution with no evidence, but people started commenting on it and referring to your partner as a solicitor or pedophile or whatever, you wouldn't like it. You'd want uninformed attention seekers to mind their business.

Oh, go do soak your head. The accused in any case are not granted anonymity. Court records are public. Case was filed, they have PDs. They will be tried. Lives ruined? They did that with their group chat. They screwed up.

Dana DuBois's avatar

"Oh, go do soak your head" is gonna be my new go-to!

MaudeT's avatar

Are you assuming the accusations are false? Charges have been filed. This isn’t just online accusation garbage.

Hey, historicdad? You’re on the wrong side of history.

MaudeT's avatar

“Local cops can handle it” 🙄

Donna's avatar

Dad, you too are missing some facts here, although she has brought a civil law suit which is about who might be liable for damages that she is claiming.

historicdad's avatar

I'm not missing facts. What have I said that is incorrect?

A civil suit doesn't mean anything. It means she wants to get paid for alleging a crime with no evidence. The significant changes in her story and her own messages already exonerated the boys. She should let this go instead of hurting people.
