This Week on The Daily Whatever Show—With Two Bonus Shows!
Week of June 29-July 3, 2026
The Daily Whatever Show schedule this week
We have two bonus shows for you all this week, so mark your calendars! 🗓️
Tues, June 30: A Call To Action: Say No to Crip Crow with Nick Paro.
Nick Paro and Nieta Greene are sounding the alarm on a June 18th DOJ memo that undermines the Olmstead decision — the Supreme Court ruling that people with disabilities have the right to live in their communities rather than institutions — and calling on readers to contact their legislators now to stop what they're calling "Crip Crow": the re-legalization of forced institutionalization and segregation of disabled people.
When Nick asked if he could come on TDWS to spread the word, of course we said yes.
Thurs, July 2: A Reckoning With Our Jewish Identities
Lawrence and I are about the least active Jews you could imagine. But we’ve found ourselves in the strange position of defending—or at least, storytelling—about the ways in which our Jewish identity impacts us as antisemitism rises worldwide. We each have a new essay coming this week, and we’re going to go live on Thursday to talk about them both.
Fri, July 3: Effed-up Friday with Ayana Madrone 🌻
Y’all know what Effed-up Friday is all about—so join us as we welcome the amazing Ayana Madrone 🌻 for her first visit to the show for everyone’s favorite weekly news show and competition!
Please join us for these three episodes at 10am ET/7am PT.
We love you all, mean it!
Thanks for listening!
We’re Dana DuBois and Lawrence Winnerman, lifelong BFFs and co-hosts of The Daily Whatever Show — our independent home for smart, irreverent conversations about culture, politics, media, creativity, relationships, aging, and whatever else is shaping modern life this week.
We’re live at 10am ET with thoughtful analysis, sharp interviews, cultural commentary, humor, and the kind of conversations that don’t pretend everything is fine when it clearly isn’t.
If you’re enjoying what we’re building, please consider supporting our work with a paid subscription. Your support helps us keep the show independent, book fascinating guests, and continue creating smart conversations with your morning coffee.
We love you — mean it!
