Happily married boomer here. I have never, and would never, use a dating app. My personal choice. If I can't find someone the usual, normal way of actual going out and meeting people IRL - I'm just gonna be by myself. I'm too old for that shit.
I would describe it like this. Dating app you’re talking to a picture. In person you’re talking to someone. How I would try to describe to you. If you meet someone and you two lock eyes and a smile is exchanged that’s an in person interaction. Quite different than liking a picture. Things I can’t describe that you have to experience. Meeting someone you’ll pick up body language in front of you and those things will tell you right away. How she looks at you how she smiles. I think the dating app is for instant. Even the internet dating of the early 2000’s was a more of a back and forth and reproire. Thats just my opinion.
In defense of my fellow millennials, vetting someone via LinkedIn is a whole different vibe from actively seeking out romance there. 😉
Besides, workplace advances have always been a thing. I don't see why that shouldn't extend to what amounts to a perpetual virtual job fair. (I'm being facetious. My work email and LinkedIn inbox have both seen things, and it's always weird.)

I never get the bots hitting on me on LinkedIn, just on Threads and IG and Facebook and Twitter and etc...
