One did not get the hormone treatment when he (his pronoun) thought he could, because of a readiness issue — meantime, he bound his breasts as tight as he could all day every day. He was so depressed during that time. His family, and many of the professionals, staff and students at the school were supportive. He changed so much when he went on hormones later that school year. He was hopeful
